With the COVID-19, this is a trying and confusing time for all of us. If you are experiencing symptoms, Revive Medical Center is now offering telemedicine and at-home testing. If you are showing symptoms or if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive, it is important to get tested in order to protect your family, friends, and neighbors, especially those in your community with compromised Immune systems.
How It Works
If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 or are showing symptoms, the first stem is a telemedicine appointment with our nurse practitioner. Then you will receive a test kit in the mail within 2 days which you will complete and send back. Once we have your results we will give you a call and let you know. The results typically take around 4 days.
Will My Insurance Cover It?
Yes. It is covered by most major insurance companies including Medicare and Medicaid. This test is FDA approved and completed through a CLIA lab that has emergency use authorization.
If you are not currently insured, we also offer a rapid test that will deliver results within 10 minutes. However, this test is not covered by insurance.
It May Just Be Allergies, Should I Still Get Tested?
Yes. And this isn’t just a “better safe than sorry” moment. According to Col. Brian Robertson, MD, Chief Allergist, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center-Bethesda Assist Asthma and Allergy to Vice Admiral Jerome Adams, 20th Surgeon General of the United States, “There is great value in checking IgG (for COVID-19). Because of the large number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases, there probably are many people who have antibodies against COVID-19 and don’t know it. Identifying these people would be very useful because they don’t have to worry about exposure as much. Especially for health care workers.”
The team at Revive Medical Center in Lawrenceville, GA, is continuing to do our part in the fight against COVID-19 and we encourage you to continue to do yours by staying home and getting tested if you have been exposed to the virus or are presenting symptoms, even mild ones.
We are also currently offering telemedicine and consultations for weight loss follow-ups, back pain, and more. If you would like more information on our telemedicine services, contact us today.
